Change of Major
- You may change your academic major before completing the maximum number of 60 credit hours.
- Courses and grades earned prior to changing the academic major at Qatar University will remain in your records and will still be calculated in the cumulative GPA.
- As a student at the Foundation Program, you may change your academic major to colleges that do not require passing the Foundation Program after meeting all the admission requirements of the sought Major.
- It is required the approval of the sought college or the concerned academic department. As the admission is extremely competitive and is subject to the capacity of the college and the concerned department.
- Students applying for change of major must adhere to the academic track of their secondary school certificate. In order to be eligible for change of major to any Science or Technology based major, students must have completed their secondary school certificate in a Science or a Technology track respectively. Consequently, students who have completed their secondary school certificate in an Arts track will be eligible for change of major to Arts and Humanities based majors only. This policy is applicable to all students admitted to Qatar University in Fall 2021 and onwards.

You will receive an email confirming the successful submission of your application and including all the details of the application. |

You will received the decision email on your QU email for changing major prior to the early registration period for the coming semester. |
- If you are applying for change of major to the College of Education, you must select the “concentration” (e.g. early childhood, Islamic Studies ...etc.) on the same application.
- If you are applying changing academic major to other than college of Education, please ignore the "concentration" field.
- If you would like to cancel your application, you must follow the same steps of applying to change major and select “none” next to the field you would like to cancel; then you will receive automatically confirmation email of the cancellation request.
- If you would like to amend your application preference, you must follow the same steps of applying and then select your new preference next to the field you would like to amend. You will receive an email confirming the modification of the request.
