The First Arab Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Conference concludes

The First Arab Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Conference: Scientific Perspectives for the Future of Inclusive Education in Arab Countries, organized by Qatar University (QU) via Webex, this four day long conference concluded on November 17.

The conference was attended by wide sectors of administrative leaders in public and higher education institutions, faculty members in universities, teachers in public and special education, researchers, graduate students, representatives of assistive technology and digital access institutions, in addition to institutions working in support of persons with disabilities from around the world.

93 scientific papers were presented by academics, researchers and experts from institutions of education and higher education in the Arab countries which participated in the conference, and their scientific papers were divided into 35 discussion sessions for four days in a row.

The conference also aimed to present a comprehensive scientific approach to the process of teaching and learning from the various disciplines concerned in supporting the different dimensions of education and highlighting experiences and exchanging experiences between Arab universities in the field of integrating students with disabilities within the framework of the comprehensive learning design, as it aimed to introduce the principles of inclusive design for learning as a framework Scientific aims to advance education in the Arab world, raise awareness in the field of architectural accessibility, digital accessibility, assistive technology, encourage scientific research in the field of UDL, and provide practical solutions to advance UDL programs in the Arab world.
