Accreditation
Accreditation is a process that requires programs to undergo comprehensive and periodic evaluations in order to ensure that the graduates are well-prepared and ready for global employment and advanced studies. It helps students and their parents to choose quality accredited university programs. It also assures potential employers of the quality education that the graduates attain. The process motivates institutions to apply systematic and effective continuous improvement methods through program’s assessment and evaluation.
As a result of the continued growth of the College of Engineering, the college made a strategic decision, in line with Qatar University’s strategic plan, to start a systematic process for quality assurance of all its engineering programs. Such process involves applying the standards used by the American Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). ABET is a highly recognized and internationally respected accreditor of college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology. ABET has set the higher-educational standards in its field for nearly 75 years.
The Chemical Engineering Program is proud to be accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org. Accreditation is a form of endorsement that the program offers a valid education that is officially recognized internationally. The hard work of our faculty members and collaborations with local industrial partners and stakeholders were the key drivers to this achievement.
