Funded Research
Translating our theme of “Sustainable Livable Environments” into a defining research culture, faculty members of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning managed to attract external funding for several research projects over previous years, which:
- Contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the areas of sustainable architecture and resilient urban design enhancing livable spaces for knowledge-intensive economies
- Evaluate the impact of spatial qualities on human behavior and productivity in the built environment and enhance buildings, cities, and spaces towards smart agile features
- Foster urban conservation, identity, and develop enriched architectural language unique to Qatar and the region while still being based on universal principles of design and function in architecture and urbanism around the world
We are exploring a multitude of other research topics under our theme and developing proposals with a variety of academic, educational, and industry collaborators in the local, regional and international contexts.
